Do your eyes deceive you? Yes, not everything you see is the full story. I volunteer for a trust called Hope Rising Farm, which works with at-risk children, supporting them and encouraging them to form trusting relationships with animals. On arrival, this magnificent fig tree welcomes one. Intricately woven branches from this tree form a young woman's face - the first student that Hope Rising Farm worked with - whose childhood experience and multiple foster homes resulted in her losing faith and trust in humanity. Her face in the tree symbolises the journey she underwent as she attended the programme, immersed in the natural environment, learning. at a glance, one would miss the face hidden within the branches, or if one saw the face, they would not know the story behind her eyes.
